The problem
Payment services need a licence you don’t have.
Obtaining your own EMI authorisation requires significant preparation and regulatory review. Most businesses that need payment services do not need to become an EMI themselves.
The DigiDoe way
Register as an EMD Agent. Go live through our API.
DigiDoe registers EMD Agents under its EMI licence to provide payment services on our behalf. EMD Agents do not themselves issue e-money. Where the model calls for it, DigiDoe also provides direct API access to its infrastructure.
What runs behind your customers.
Your customers deal with you. These are the DigiDoe capabilities underneath that arrangement.
Hold balances in GBP, EUR, USD and AED, and convert to or from supported currencies for eligible payments.
Supported payment rails include SWIFT, SEPA, FPS, BACS and CHAPS, depending on currency, destination and eligibility.
Submit onboarding information through the API for eligible customer journeys, subject to DigiDoe’s due-diligence requirements and approval.

What separates an EMD Agent from every other partner.
Introducers refer and professional partners manage clients. EMD Agents register under the DigiDoe EMI licence itself to act for us in this way; they do not issue e-money.
EMD Agents provide payment services to their own customers, running on DigiDoe rails.
